Send Capsules ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use our services.

By accessing or using Send Capsules, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please refrain from using our services.

1. Information We Collect

1.1. Information You Provide

When you use Send Capsules, we collect information including, but not limited to: Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and password. Capsule Content: Any digital assets you upload, such as text, documents, media files, passwords, and messages. Recipient Information: Name and contact details of designated recipients/inheritors. Payment Information: Billing details, transaction history, and payment method details (processed through Stripe; we do not store payment card details).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information for the following purposes: To Provide and Operate the Service: Creating, storing, and delivering capsules. Security & Authentication: Preventing fraud, unauthorized access, and verifying your identity. Service Communications: Sending essential notifications, such as capsule delivery updates. Customer Support: Addressing user inquiries and resolving technical issues. Compliance & Legal Obligations: Meeting regulatory requirements and enforcing our Terms of Service.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal data. However, we may share information in the following cases:

With Recipients: The individuals you designate as recipients will receive capsule contents according to your delivery settings.
With Service Providers:
- Stripe: For secure payment processing.
- AWS S3: For secure storage of user-uploaded files and capsule content.
For Legal Reasons: If required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or to prevent fraud and security threats. We do not share user data with advertisers or third-party marketing services.

4. Data Security & Retention

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal data. Storage & Encryption: Capsules are stored on AWS S3 with encryption at rest and in transit. However, they are not end-to-end encrypted. Authentication: We do not currently support two-factor authentication (2FA), but we recommend using a strong, unique password. Data Retention User data is retained as long as the account remains active. Capsule contents are stored until the configured delivery date. Upon account deletion, all personal data will be removed within 90 days, unless legally required for retention. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at support@sendcapsules.com.

5. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to: Access Your Data: Request a copy of your personal information. Update or Delete Data: Modify your account details or request data deletion. 6. Third-Party Links & Services

Send Capsules may contain links to third-party services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of external services before providing personal data.

7. Children's Privacy

Our services are not intended for users under the age of 13. If we learn that a child's data has been collected, we will take immediate steps to delete it.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. If significant changes occur, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice.
